A joint effort to clean up Shelby ~ to live health and stay healthy!
Tuesday, May 14 – Saturday, May 18, 2019
Shelby City Health Department is holding spring clean up days from May 14 through May 18. Collection will take place at the empty parking lot south of Central School (25 High School Avenue). The site will be open from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm during the week and 8:00 am to 2:00 pm on Saturday. Residents can bring waste items to the site during operating hours for free disposal. The following types of waste will be accepted:
- Appliances (stoves, refrigerators, window air conditioners, washers, dryers)
- Yard waste (limited to limbs, branches, brush, grass, weeds, and leaves)
- Scrap tires NOT on rims and improperly stored on your exterior property
- Furniture, including couches and mattresses that have been stored OUTSIDE ONLY
The city WILL NOT accept commercial/business waste or tractor, race, or semi tires.
Residents can also place yard waste items (limbs, branches, trimmings, etc.) beside roadways and alleys for curbside collection. Curbside collection will occur Tuesday through Friday on the following schedule:
- Tuesday – Ward 1
- Wednesday – Ward 2
- Thursday – Ward 3
- Friday – Ward 4
